When you bought your nice shiny biomass boiler and lit it for the first time did you ever stop to think what it was that you had bought? After doing your research and no doubt lengthy discussions with your installer did you end up buying the Rolls-Royce of boilers? Had you bought the Dacia Sandero or did you find the middle ground and went for a Volkswagen?

The truth is that no matter what you bought to some level the manufacturer will of value engineered parts to work, just. This is great at the point of purchase and during your warranty period but once that expires the bills can start to rack up. A quote I always find myself returning to is that of NASA astronaut John Glenn.

What we do at KoolBricks is match or improve upon some of these parts. We can normally match or beat the OEM price for what we believe is a longer lasting part. A prime example of this would be on motors and gearboxes. We prefer to use market leaders such as ABB and adjust the specification slightly if your control panel allows it. We would recommend replacing a 1kw motor with a 1.25kw so it runs cooler and in most cases last longer. Assuming your reverse starter for protecting your augers is set for the correct amps for that grade auger you shouldn't cause any damage anywhere else. The reverse starter will ensure you don't put undue strain anywhere else whilst the motor will be running 25% more within itself.
